Vision Australia is a leading national provider of blindness and low vision services in Australia. We work in partnership with Australians who are blind or have low vision to help them achieve the possibilities they choose in life.

We support more than 27,500 people of all ages and life stages, and circumstances. We do this through 28 Vision Australia centres in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia; 30 clinics; and through outreach programs in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

An exciting opportunity awaits a Speech Pathologist, with Paediatric experience to operate throughout the Gold Coast region. The role initially requires someone for 10-12 hours per fortnight, however this could increase as the case load expands.


As a contractor Paediatric Speech Pathologist at Vision Australia you will:

  • provide appropriate and effective speech pathology programs for clients and their families who receive a service from Vision Australia.
  • write appropriate and effective goals for individuals and groups based on family centred practice.
  • As required, liaise with external service providers to achieve desired outcomes for clients.
  • As required Identify, develop and review information and resources; promote and represent Vision Australia regarding speech pathology issues in relevant forums; develop and maintain internal and external networks and provide professional development as appropriate to relevant parties.


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate qualification in speech pathology and eligibility for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia
  • Knowledge of and experience in speech pathology services for paediatric clients particularly in the area of early intervention, alternative and augmentative communication and feeding difficulties.

Understanding of the transdisciplinary approach is essential and previous experience in working within a transdisciplinary model is preferable.
