 Vision Australia is a leading national provider of blindness and low vision services in Australia. We work in partnership with Australians who are blind or have low vision to help them achieve the possibilities they choose in life.

We do this through 28 Vision Australia centres in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia; 30 clinics; and through outreach programs in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Service Engagement Consultant to join our team in our Central Coast and Hunter Region.


As a Service Engagement Consultant at Vision Australia your main purpose is one of consultation and liaison between the client, Vision Australia and the NDIS. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Using a person centred, strength-based service approach with a view to maximising participant outcomes and revenue opportunities;
  • Advocating for and mentoring participants of NDIS, My Aged Care and other individualised funding schemes;
  • Guide colleagues to broaden service delivery for optimising service value;
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with service delivery staff, Regional Practice Leaders and Regional Managers to provide transdisciplinary, holistic services for Vision Australia clients;

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health sciences, Community Development , Social work or Allied Health
  • A good understanding of the services required by blind and low vision clients to support their choices in daily living, learning and education, employment and recreation activities
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and assist clients to plan and develop goals
  • High level of communication,  organisational and planning skills
  • A demonstrated understanding of person centred practices
  • Experience in developing networks with agencies such as community providers, community agencies, hospitals and Primary Health Networks
  • Experience navigating NDIS, My Aged Care or other government funding programs
