Vision Australia Seeing Eye Dogs is seeking an accomplished professional with a strong administrative and customer service background, and a passion for people and dogs, to fill an exciting new role supporting carers of Seeing Eye Dog puppies and dogs in all stages of the program. 

Responsibilities

 As the Carer Coordinator at Seeing Eye Dogs you will:

  • Develop the effective and efficient administration of the carer program, including publishing procedures and ensuring continuous improvement of systems
  • Manage an accurate and detailed database of over 250 volunteer carers
  • Maintain up to date volunteer records in accordance with professional standards and Vision Australia Policy and Procedures and all relevant legislation
  • Build relationships with carers through providing person centred support that promotes the success of each individual carer and pup/dog
  • Deliver all operational carer program requirements including customer service, stock management, carer training, feedback and compliance 
  • Coordinate movement of dogs/pups between carers, kennel facility and dog training program 
  • Increase number of dogs in care, reducing number of pups/dogs boarding in the kennel facility 
  • Increase carer retention and rate of repeat carers 
  • Collaborate with staff in all departments of Seeing Eye Dogs to ensure that dogs' needs are met through the carer program
  • Undertake continuous professional development, including keeping up to date with all policy and procedures, and maintaining skills and knowledge

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Significant experience and success in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and maintain effective programs
  • Ability to provide feedback and undertake critical conversations with stakeholders
