An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Alternate Format Producer to join our team in Sydney, New South Wales. The role will initially be based in Enfield, however in December the role will be based out of Parramatta.

Responsibilities 

As an Alternate Format Producer at Vision Australia you will: 

  • Transcribe and encode written material into braille, large print, tactile, DAISY or electronic format using appropriate software and/or other means
  • Ensure that all aspects of production achieve a high standard for clients, and meet all standards/key performance indicators set by Vision Australia
  • Ensure all work is produced and completed within agreed timeframes
  • Research and implement alternative software applications relating to music braille transcription

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience with OCR applications Tertiary level or equivalent qualification in Music Theory
  • Basic working knowledge of Unified English Braille
  • Experience with graphics and vector based software
  • Experience with OCR applications
  • Experience with MS Office applications and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand written material and to interpret descriptions of visual and/or graphical material of a technical or specialist nature
