We do this through 28 Vision Australia centres in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia; 30 clinics; and through outreach programs in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

 An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Children Services Coordinator to support the allocation of Children services across the Melbourne Metropolitan region.


As a Children Services Coordinator at Vision Australia your main purpose is one of coordination of the delivery of Children Services within Vision Australia’s Victorian metropolitan regions (Inner South East, South East, North West and Eastern) to assist in achieving equity and access for children aged 0-18 who are blind or have low vision, and their families. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Complete the initial contact or Children’s Services clients for Victorian Metro regions;
  • Manage Children’s Services referrals and work to increase these referrals across the Victorian Metro regions;
  • Coordinate professional development activities for Children Services staff;
  • Maintain and build new relationships with Children Services specific organisations including Statewide Vision Resource Centre (EVAC), Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH), Early Childhood Intervention Australia;
  • Identify, through intake, the most appropriate primary service provider to coordinate the provision of services internally for clients and families and to liaise with external service providers to achieve desired outcomes for clients.


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree or diploma in Human Services area (or equivalent) with relevant work experience and specialist skills sufficient to perform these activities;
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in working with children and families;
  • Experience in providing client initial contact services in person and/or through other communication mediums;
